TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A letter sent to a Canadian family from an anonymous neighbor referring to their son who has severe autism as a nuisance is circulating the web.

"The part about donating his un-retarded body parts to science because he's no good for anything else-that made me want to puke," said mother Karla Begley.

Begley says that was the hardest part of the letter to read about her son Max. A neighbor mailed the single-page letter to Max's grandmother.

It refers to the boy as a nuisance, before suggesting the family move away or euthanize the child.

"To suggest that he be euthanized, I'm just appalled," said Executive Director of Autism Society Chapter Linell Weinburg. "I can't even fathom that someone would feel that way."

Max was diagnosed with autism just before he was two. Even though Weinberg is the Executive Director of the Autism Society Chapter in northwest Ohio and does not personally know the family, she is still shocked by the letter.

"All the parents I know would do anything for their child," said Weinberg. "If I said sell your house, give me your money I can cure your child, they would do it in a heartbeat. They would throw themselves under a bus if it would mean helping their child or saving their child."

Neighbors who have heard about the letter, have come out in support of Max, and Weinberg says she would do the exact same.
