The FBI is warning about "phishing" email messages with subject lines referring to missing children that are circulating, supposedly from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The message has a .zip file attached. Do not open the .zip file, which will load malicious software on your computer.
The FBI and other government agencies will not send email messages with a .zip or .exe file attached.
FBI officials say if you have not subscribed to receive email messages from a government agency, be very suspicious of supposed official messages with any type of attachment. Often, people forward these types of messages not realizing their true nature.
