PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Things got off to a rocking start out at Levis Commons Saturday morning.
The Children's Miracle Network "Dance Dash 5k" is a brand new event.
The event raised money for Mercy Children's Hospital.
Organizers say they test the events to see if they will succeed in raising money for local children's hospitals.
Saturday's turnout was better than they expected.
"So the turnout here today was fantastic, bigger than we could have expected. We have over 500 people registered to come out and participate in dance dash," said Director of National Events, Staci Cross.
This was the first "Dance Dash 5k" in the country.
After the success of Saturday's event, the Children's Miracle Network hopes to take the race across the nation.
