Construction signs are popping up in Springfield Township as their 2013 road projects gets underway.
Phase one of the road projects began as Jade States just last week, next week phase two begins on Keiswetter Road.
Work in the area of Jade Estates, on Sherborn and Sudbury, includes road and drainage work, along with curb repairs.
Another major project begins next week. Keiswetter will see even more drainage work as well as work on the roads.
Both projects are covering more than 3 miles of roadways. Public Service Director Mike Hampton says the township is doing more drainage work with storm utility funds than in previous years.
"In the past all we did was just some basin repairs," said Hampton. "But now we're going through and you know, we're cleaning up ditches, we're filling in ditches, we're tiling ditches, to make the area more esthetic and help with the storm water management."
Work on the $1.4 million project should be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
