SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -
is a top priority for Sylvania Schools. They had their first of four ALICE
training sessions Wednesday afternoon.
schools are required by law to have fire and tornado drills, but the Sylvania
district has ALICE drills, as well.
leaders say they hope they don't ever have to use these skills, but believe it's
key to be prepared for any situation.
are trained in three areas: Intelligent escape, enhanced lockdown procedures,
and counter and swarm.
district ensures that their staff is trained every year, as well.

forefront," said Superintendent Brad Rieger. "We're always focusing on keeping
our kids safe; it's one of our district initiatives."
school will have four sessions of ALICE training, and there's a parent session
