NAPOLEON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

As Napoleon students head back to school, district leaders are preparing for a major construction project.

The initial electrical work is complete and now crews are getting ready to break ground on a brand new junior high addition.

It's part of a larger plan to add on and update the existing high school to house grades 7-12, and build a new elementary school across the street. Leaders say this will save money in the long run, and provide new opportunities for students.

"We're very proud to be able to give this to our kids for generations to come, so it's an exciting time for the community to get the updated technology and facilities in place for the kids," said Mike Bostelman, district treasurer.

They're expecting to break ground on the new addition in the next month, and the new elementary school next spring.
