Walbridge, OH (Toledo News Now) -
officers in Walbridge are testing out new kind of camera that they say will cut
back on crime.
new camera is smaller than a key, and an officer can wear it on their pocket.
They say having an extra set of eyes will make a big difference on the streets.
DUIs, we're going to catch that person slurring, we're going to catch that
person on camera wobbling," said Jeffrey Goetz, Jr., an investigator with the
Walbridge Police Department.
also says the camera will help in drug busts.
we find drugs in a vehicle, there's no question because this will pick up
everything that I find when I search a vehicle," he said. "If I pull marijuana
out of a center console, there's no question where it came from…Since the
camera doesn't lie, criminals can't lie about what happens on the scene."
are testing the camera out to see if they will buy more. Officers say it helps
them complete reports faster and more accurately.
