Tri-State issued weather warnings in effect until tonight

Multiple weather reports have been issued in the Tri-State for severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings in effect for the next several hours.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for the following counties until 6:15 p.m.:

  • Northern Clermont County in Southwest Ohio.
  • Hamilton County in Southwest Ohio
  • Campbell County in Northern Kentucky
  • Boone County in Northern Kentucky
  • Kenton County in Northern Kentucky

The locations of impact include:

  • Reading
  • Blue Ash
  • Delhi Township
  • University Of Cincinnati
  • Norwood
  • Loveland
  • Madeira
  • Downtown Cincinnati
  • Newport
  • Covington
  • Erlanger
  • Fort Mitchell

Several locations are slated to be in the path of storms:

  • Covedale
  • Arlington Heights
  • Elmwood Place
  • St. Bernard
  • Amberley
  • Dillonvale
  • Montgomery
  • Golf Manor

Individuals in these counties are recommended to seek shelter in a sturdy building and stay away from windows and storms until the storms have passed.

Additionally, a flash flood warning has been issued for southern Fayette County and western Franklin County in Indiana until 7:45 p.m. tonight.

Indiana residents living in southern Fayette County and western Franklin County may experience an additional one to two inches of rain in the next two hours. The runoff from the excessive rainfall may cause a flash flood, particularly in the communities of Brookville and Laurel.

Residents of these areas are advised to move to higher ground and keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks, and streams.
