A building at the University of Cincinnati was evacuated Wednesday due to fumes caused by primer applied to nearby concrete walkways and stairs.
Rieveschl Hall was evacuated around 12:00 p.m. after fumes seeped into the ventilation system. The building was evacuated due to a strong odor and safety concerns.
UC officials said the sealer was being applied to an area between the Rieveschl, Crosley and DAAP buildings, and the worst of the odors should be done but the process is not yet complete.
The school is now working with the crew applying the sealer to the walkway to create the least disturbance possible for classrooms.
According to UC officials, similar work will continue over the next several days.
