One of three people charged with the New Year's Eve murder of a
University of Toledo student is taking a plea.
Kevin Brooks, 23, is pleading guilty to a single count of
complicity to commit involuntary manslaughter. He is charged in the killing of Brian Minley, 24, in a
home on Berdan Avenue. Prosecutors say three suspects planned to rob Minley by arranging to buy marijuana from him at his home.
Brooks faces from three to 11 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.
Another suspect, Ashley Hundstrucker has a scheduled courtroom appearance Sept. 16.
The man whom prosecutors say was behind the drug-related murder, Daquaine Booth, goes on trial Sept. 30.
