A Browns fan says he suffered a serious leg injury because a fight broke out in the stands and the unruly crowd rolled into him.
Mike Streb says he was sitting in the upper section of the Dawg Pound for Sunday's game. He tells 19 Action News a fight broke out a few rows behind him. Streb and his friend were getting up to leave, but the guys from the fight suddenly rolled into his leg, pushing him into a bench.
Streb is now walking on crutches and he has a dislocated knee and ligament damage.
Streb is speaking out because he wants to know who was involved in the fight. He also wants more game security in the stands. He says it took a few minutes for a police officer to get there after the fight had broken up, and the angry crowd had taken off.
Streb tells 19 Action News he just became a season ticket holder for this year, and despite what happened, he still plans to go to games.
The Browns released the following statement:
In recent years the Browns have taken more and more steps for stadium security.
In this case, the Browns are "investigating and communicating with the fan."
He says a cop didn't get there till long after the fight. The Browns say no. They'd had a call on a stadium hotline. Either way this won't keep Mike Streb away from the games.
