You can't keep a good ad campaign down.
Slogans promoting Las Vegas tourism have come and gone, but everyone remembers "What happens here, stays here," even if that's not always the case in the digital age.
On Sept. 30, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), along with R&R Partners, will relaunch the "What happens here, stays here" campaign. Only this time, Google is stepping in with a new feature.
The Google Map feature will allow potential visitors to take virtual tours of rooms, spas and a number of other hotel amenities at www.LasVegas.com.
The goal is to keep the number of visitors growing, according to the LVCVA, after a record-breaking 39.7 million people came to Las Vegas last year. While the new ads are still in production, the concept sounds enticing to tourists.
"When we booked the Luxor, we didn't know what sort of hotel it was. We went by the agent's recommendation," said British tourist Gary Fitzpitrick.
"If you want to have some luxury experience, you can choose your room, you can choose your hotel before you go there - it's really helpful, I think," said Barbora Pospichaloa, a Las Vegas visitor from the Slovak Republic.
R&R Partners said the competition for tourist dollars is tough. With new projects under construction, such as MGM's new arena and Caesars Entertainment's LINQ project, R&R Partners is hopeful for the future of tourism in Las Vegas.
