Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn says one of his deputies was injured in a crash at the intersection of Huffman Road and state Route 281 earlier this week.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Jerrod Savidge says Deputy Josh Augsburger ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck another vehicle Wednesday night. The sheriff says he sustained lacerations and other injuries in the crash, which caused his vehicle to flip.
Augsburger was transported to a hospital by emergency helicopter, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
The other driver, an 18-year-old Defiance woman, sustained minor injuries.
The accident is currently under investigation. Savidge says the deputy will be charged.
