East Toledo residents were able to learn how they can help keep their neighborhoods safe.
The Toledo Area Block Watch group held a block party at the marina district.
It was the kick-off event for their new "lead the change, be the change" campaign.
Organizers say even if people aren't active members of a group, everyone can do their part to keep their neighborhoods safe.
"Even if it's not in the traditional [way], we still want them to be involved in some way. And reporting is one of those ways, and looking out for each other," said Tracee Ellis, with the Toledo Area Block Watch.
The next event for the Toledo Area Block Watch will be at Robinson Junior high on October 10th.
