TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Residents, in south Toledo, kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with the 2nd annual Barrio Latino Arts Festival.
Local artists showcased their wares, including some that were for sale.
Festival-goers could also get free health screenings and checked out a car show.
Organizers say a culture's art is a window into how that culture views the world.
"It's a good representation of how we think of life, and how we live life. It's very upbeat and positive, and that's how we like to be. When people think of Hispanics or Latinos, they think of Fiestas and Festivities," said Delfina Zapata, of the Organization of Latino Artists.
All proceeds raised went to support 5 local charities.
