FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

Northern Arizona authorities are looking for a man suspected of fondling and trying to abduct a 13-year-old Flagstaff girl Friday evening.

The 13-year-old victim told Coconino County sheriff's deputies she stepped off her school bus at Koch Field and Silver Saddle roads and began walking home at around 5:30 p.m.

She said a man approached her from behind - a person she saw sitting against a telephone pole on Silver Saddle Road as her bus drove by, deputies said.

He began to follow her once she exited the bus and began walking home, sheriff's investigators said.

The man caught up with her, rubbed her arm, then grabbed her from behind and made a lewd comment, the girl told deputies.

The teen then ran away. As she looked back, she said she saw the man running away from her, heading east on Silver Saddle Road, where he then ran into the forest toward the Old Cave's Crater trailhead.

The man was last seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt with sweat stains and tan shorts that went below the knees.

He is about 30 years old. He's described as 5'10" tall and weighs between 160 to 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and short, greasy black-spiked hair. He was wearing a small black backpack.

People with any information about the suspect are asked to call the Coconino County Sheriff's Office at 928-774-4523.
