SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A Sylvania business is growing by helping other companies survive. Northwest Capital plans to break ground on a new building in October, and add 10-15 new jobs in the next year.
Northwest Capital loans money to businesses struggling to make payroll. They have been in Sylvania for 25 years.
Jim Delverne was a client, but he is now a partner in the company. Delverne says Northwest Capital allowed him to grow his business.
"As regulators get more difficult for the banks to deal with, there's certain types of deals they're not longer allowed to do, that they may have done at one point," Delverne said. "So we've seen a lot more deals since the downturn happened in 2008."
Northwest Capital moved to their current location four years ago and have already outgrown it. They're getting ready to break ground on a new location next month and will begin adding jobs next spring.
