Dewayne Thompson, wanted in the wounding and kidnapping of 17-year-old Katelyn Beard, has been captured by Jackson Police. He was taken into custody around 5:45 in west Jackson near where Beard's vehicle was found earlier today.

‘It Can Wait' campaign aims to raise awareness. Statistics show that there are
more than 100,000 accidents a year due to texting while driving.
representative from AT&T stopped by the Toledo Red Cross recently to talk
to volunteers about the national campaign that begins Thursday, and how they
are trying to get people to go online and pledge to never text and drive.

which featured testimonials from those affected by texting and driving. He also
talked about a cell phone app that senses when the car is moving and notifies
those texting you that you are driving, and will get back to them at a more convenient
encouraging people – don't respond to text messages, use the drive mode app,
turn the phone off, put the phone in your purse or put it in the back seat of
the car, put it in your trunk," Hellmann said. "But…don't text and drive."
