Cleveland (WOIO) - If there's one thing that has defined the Indians this season, it's that every player has had a role in their success, and they proved that theory again on Thursday night, as Matt Carson, called up this month from Triple-A Columbus, delivered yet another dramatic walk-off win with an RBI single in the 11th, as the Indians beat the Astros, 2-1 at Progressive Field.
Jason Kipnis had staked the Tribe to a 1-0 lead in the first with an RBI single.
The Astros answered with a sacrifice fly in the second to tie it at one, and then the pitchers' duel was on. Ubaldo Jimenez went seven innings, striking out nine, while Dennis Keuchel answered for the Astros, going seven and striking out seven.
With the win, the Indians are now just a half-game out of the top spot in the A.L. Wild Card race.
