MORRIS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Two East Texas teenagers were killed and two were injured in a one vehicle wreck late Thursday night.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sylvia Jennings, the incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. on County Road 4304 in Morris County. 19-year-old Tanner Lane Allen of Naples was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up containing three teenage passengers when the truck left the roadway and struck a tree.
Allen and the passenger in the front seat of the truck, 18-year-old Chelsey Rayann-Marie Hatfield of Naples, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. 17-year-old Arian Louise Martin of Omaha was transported to Titus Regional Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. Martin suffered a collapsed lung, broken vertebrae, and a broken femur. The third passenger, 19-year-old Cayden Reece Richardson of Naples, was also taken to Titus Regional Medical Center to treat a broken arm.
The speed limit on County Road 4304 is 60 mph and conditions were rainy at the time the accident occurred. All four teenagers were not wearing seatbelts.
Allen and Hatfield were pronounced dead by Morris County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Betty Johnson. Allen is the son of a DPS trooper.
