On Saturday morning, hundreds of walkers gathered at the Dana Cancer Center to walk for ovarian cancer awareness.
At 10am, Participants joined a 5K race as teams or individuals, in support of their family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who have survived ovarian cancer.
Gift baskets were raffled off, in addition to local vendors selling food and other items.
All proceeds raised will stay local, supporting education, research, awareness programs and provided financial assistance for ovarian cancer patients.
WTOL 11's Jerry Anderson served as the Emcees for the event.
This year's theme was "Get Real About Teal." Non-perishable canned food items were collected at the event to support Nightingale Harvest, a food bank for all cancer patients.
