Police arrest suspect after pistol whipping in Hamilton

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Police have arrested a suspect in connection to man who was pistol whipped and had his car stolen in Hamilton.

Reginald Lee Palmer, 29, was arrested by the City of Hamilton Police Department on Wednesday, September 25 and charged with three felonies assault charges, including Aggravated Robbery, Felonious Assault and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

Palmer was involved in an incident that happened just after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24 morning in the 500 block of South 12th Street.

Officers say the suspect, identified by police as Reginald Palmer, pistol whipped the victim in the head. During the attack the gun went off but no one was hit by the bullet.

Police say Palmer left the scene in the victim's purple Oldsmobile. 

The victim's name and condition are currently unknown.

Palmer will be arraigned in Hamilton Municipal Court at a future time and date.
