The mother of 1-year-old Elaina Steinfurth, whose body was found in an east Toledo garage earlier this month, appeared in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for another pretrial hearing Wednesday morning, only to have her case continued again.
Angela Steinfurth's case was continued to Oct. 23. She signed another time waiver in court.
Steinfurth is currently being charged with obstruction of justice. She waived her right to a speedy trial earlier this month. She is currently being held on a $100,000 bond at the Lucas County Jail.
Steinfurth's former boyfriend, Steven King, is also being charged with obstruction of justice. He will have another pretrial hearing Thursday. During his last hearing, King's trial was pushed back to October to allow for extra time to examine evidence.
On Sept. 5, Toledo Police found immature skeletal remains in a garage near King's home. The remains were later identified as baby Elaina. An official cause of death is still pending.
Elaina will be laid to rest at the Lake Township Cemetery in Millbury Saturday. Visitation will be Friday. In Ohio, human remains can be buried with a pending cause and manner designation, but they cannot be cremated or disposed of in a way that would prevent further testing.
