WATERVILLE, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Primary School just won some major bragging rights. They were named a national
Blue Ribbon School, and students there beat out every other school in the area
to win the title.
Chad Warnimont says dedicated, hard-working teachers and students eager to
learn are just some of the reasons they've been so successful.
Primary School was the only school in northwest Ohio to receive the
distinction, and one of only about 290 in the country. They earned the award
because their math and reading test scores have been consistently high over the
past three years. Their test scores are in the 90th percentile, with
third grade reading scores the highest at 97 percent.
were absolutely amazed," Warnimont said. "It was such a great honor yesterday
when we found out. We read the list and I got the announcement and shouted, ‘Yippee-kay-ay-yay!'
to all the students and staff. We were so excited."
says that excitement will continue because of the teachers' enthusiasm in the
classroom and students who are always ready to learn.
