TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Chrysler Group has made the decision to reinstate the second shift at Toledo North Assembly Plant, beginning Sept. 30.
Representatives say as they continue to refine the
vehicle's powertrain software, they are implementing a plan that will allow them to
make the required updates more quickly than anticipated, thereby making
additional layoffs unnecessary at this time.
According to reps, this is the world's first
application of a highly technical nine-speed transmission and it
is being mated to two new engines and three complex 4x4 systems.
Still, as the senior management has stated in the past, Chrysler Group will only introduce a
vehicle to consumers when they feel completely satisfied.
