year's Maumee Citizens' Police Academy class is the biggest yet, out of 15
years of classes.
academy gives students an inside look at the police department. This week's class
was all about the special response unit and personal defense.
entire special response team is equipped with various guns, flash bangs, entry
tools, and the training to handle high-risk warrants and hostage situations
quickly and with minimal force.
they've gone through this, and they may not know much about a special response
team, they may not even know that we have one here at the Maumee Police
Division, but I think after they sit through this and can see exactly what
those officers' abilities are, they're going to be very proud of the community,"
said Sgt. TJ Stratton.

but knowledge of both can make a difference.
