ALLEN TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A new industrial park could be in the works in Hancock County, as a company looks to expand its business on Distribution Drive.
The county wants to put the whole area to good use, and it's going to take a little help from it for Ohio Logistics to expand its business in the area.
A brand new warehouse is one of two buildings Ohio Logistics wants to add on Township Road 99, better known as Distribution Drive. A 125,000 square-foot expansion to its north side is also in the works.
County commissioners want to use money from property taxes to add a drainage system, sewers and curbs at the new development site.
Officials say the project could cost up to $2 million, but would ready the land for future development.
"That's going to be a big area for us in the future. We have an industrial park we're working on that will be in that same general vicinity, and it's only 10 miles from North Baltimore, which is where the CSX Intermodal is, so it puts us in a very good position," said Anthony Iriti, director of Findlay Hancock County Alliance.
County officials are looking into other sources of funding, including JobsOhio and a grant from the Department of Transportation.
Ohio Logistics is expected to create 35 to 45 new local jobs with its expansion.
