A Rossford Veterans of Foreign Wars post says its building is in need of major repairs, and it needs help to make those repairs.
"The major problem is roof leaks over our kitchen area we have a lot of black mold up in the ceiling that we need to take care of," said Jerry Staczek of Rossford VFW post 6049.
Staczek says ceilings are also falling down inside the post, and a set of stairs are unusable.
Home Depot recently donated new landscaping and rebuilt another staircase, but the mold is making it difficult to book events in the hall.
"We have to fix our house and then we can move on from there to help serve others," said Staczek.
Staczek says members are hoping younger veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan can revitalize the post.
"You're putting your life on the line for the country and then you're coming home and helping each other out - no matter what you've been through, so that to us means a lot. So we want to give back to the community give back to those who served and we feel this is important to save this post," said Staczek.
