PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Many people have experienced the inconvenience of needing to see a doctor when the office is closed, but not having an emergency worth going to the hospital for. That's where the new Perrysburg ProMedica After Hours comes in.
The new urgent care center is inside the Perrysburg Medical Center, next to Levis Commons. It is open in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays. It will be staffed with a nurse practitioner and a medical assistant.
"Things that we are mostly coming here for are those simple sick things," said Cindy Edwards-Tuttle, director of medical operations at ProMedica After Hours. "Those annoying ear aches and bladder infections, a cold that's just not improving."
The fee for a visit will be the same as a regular doctor's office visit co-pay, as opposed to an emergency room fee. For patients already in the ProMedica system, they can even send information to their primary care physician.
"We can look at what their allergies are, what their medications are," said Edwards-Tuttle. "We can treat them and send that message straight to the physician's computer."
The center's hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 6:30-11:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday and all holidays, 1-8 p.m.
