SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Sylvania parents got a hands on look at the district's technology plan on Friday.
The district recently purchased Google Chromebook laptops for about 20 percent of its student population to use. The plan calls for every third through twelfth grander to have his or her own Chromebook within three to five years.
"I think it's a long time coming, I think with the core curriculum changes nationally, I think Sylvania Schools are positioning themselves in a perfect position," said parent Ruthann Finch.
Adam Fineske, the district's Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction says the $250 laptops are paid for by budgeted money.
