TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledo fire dispatchers say crews responded to a Columbia Gas facility on Laskey Road near Douglas Road in west Toledo.
Officials at the scene say there was a gas leak and small fire inside the building. According to Chris Kozak from Columbia Gas, there was a small flame inside the regulator station, but Columbia Gas crews went in and took care of the issue. No gas service was interrupted.
Kozak says there was never any danger to area residents, but as a precaution, nearby houses were evacuated. Residents who were evacuated were recently allowed back into their homes.
Laskey Road was closed while crews were working at the scene, it has since reopened.
