A member of Sylvania City Council who resigned his seat just a week ago is looking to get back on council.
Councilman Mark Luetke resigned from council on September 30 because of changes in the state's retirement system for public employees. Now Luetke is asking council to appoint him to his old seat.
A majority vote of council is needed to fill a vacant position. Council could name a replacement for Luetke, or appoint him to his old seat at a meeting Monday evening.
Council has 30 days from Luetke's resignation to appoint someone to the seat. After that time, Sylvania Mayor Craig Stough would decide who gets the seat.
