Police said it is likely the cleaning staff forgot to lock up.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Monday was a federal holiday – Columbus Day – and as such, government offices were not open, most trash services were halted, and banks were closed.
Or so they were supposed to be.
Some customers got into the Compass Bank on University Drive Monday morning, tripping police alarms in the process. Officers said the situation was a misunderstanding. They believe a cleaning crew left the bank unlocked, and customers who did not realize it was supposed to be closed walked in.
An bank employee was called to lock up after police checked out the situation and determined there was no threat.
