TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A family is grieving the loss of a 23-year-old Toledo woman, while police search for the man they say shot and killed her.
Jordan Jones Harris was shot and killed in her west Toledo apartment Sunday evening. Family members say she had recently broken up with the man accused of killing her - Marquis Walker.
"That has to be the worst news that someone could hear, is to find out that your child has been murdered. And she's not my child, but she was like my child," said Blanca Romero, who says she was like a mother to Jones Harris. "You say you loved her. That's not love, that's not love. I'm sorry, that's not love. We love her."
Police are asking for the public's help finding Walker. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111. Family members have another idea about how Walker should be brought to justice.
"You are a coward! A low down coward! Less than a man! Be a man and turn yourself in! That's what I want you to do," said Romero.
Romero also has a message for Jones Harris.
"You will be a star that will be seated in the center of our hearts. Forevermore. Shining bright. So when you see us, and you see a brightness, it's her," said Romero.
