Toledo/Lucas County CareNet, with the assistance of its partner organizations, Mercy, ProMedica, and the University of Toledo Medical Center, will host two free flu shot clinics for CareNet members and local residents who are uninsured this week.
-Monday from 3–7 p.m. at The Source, located at 1301 Monroe Street in Toledo
-Wednesday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at The Pharmacy Counter, located at 2655 W. Central Avenue in Toledo
Supplies are limited and shots will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Toledo/Lucas County CareNet coordinates health care services for Lucas County residents who are uninsured, not eligible for public or private health insurance, and have household incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, which for a family of two is $31,020.
The following organizations are donating flu shots and supplies for this event:
-The Kroger Pharmacy
-The Pharmacy Counter
-UT College of Pharmacy
"Thanks to the overwhelming and continued support of CareNet's partners, we have over 250 free flu vaccines to provide to our members and the community's uninsured," said Jan Ruma, executive director of Toledo/Lucas County CareNet. "We want to provide an opportunity for individuals to protect themselves this upcoming flu season."
