PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Township Police are getting new gadgets they say will help them better serve
is called a spotting scope. The scopes can see about 1,000 yards away and will
be used by township officers and members of the Northern Regional SWAT Unit.
The scopes will give police a clear view of what's nearly impossible to see with
the naked eye, making it easier for SWAT members and police to see danger
cruisers will soon be fitted with new touch-screen computers, as well.
the officers are writing reports throughout the night, when I come in the
morning, I'll be able to look at all of those reports just through my computer
at home," explained Deputy Chief Gilmore. "So the communication link will be
that much better for the 24-hour period."
