TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
The St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral held their 68th annual Lebanese dinner on Sunday.
It's the only fundraiser the church holds all year, and they were hoping to raise around $15,000 dollars for general operations.
The homemade, authentic Lebanese food has been a staple at this event for nearly 7 decades, even before most Toledoans were even aware of the culture's cuisine.
"It used to be that Lebanese food was not very well known, and now there is Lebanese food and restaurants everywhere. But, this is how we started, and this is our roots, and this is how we like to keep it," said Malake Ansara of the Cathedral.
The event is always held the last weekend in October.
