LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The first flu cases of the season have been confirmed in the Commonwealth.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health identified two separate cases of the flu, one in Jefferson County and one in Henderson County.
The National Center for Disease Control is currently classifying Kentucky's flu activity as sporadic, which is the lowest level.
Flu season usually starts in October or November.
The Department for Public Health is encouraging everyone to get a flu shot, especially children and pregnant women.
