City of Toledo passed an increase in water rates for its customers, which
includes customers in local suburbs.
city council approved an increase in rates earlier this year, which affects all
jurisdictions that pull from Toledo water. There will be a 9 percent increase
in the cost of water purchased from Toledo.
in Perrysburg can expect a 7.5 increase in their water rates for the next four years
as a result of the rate increase in Toledo. But Perrysburg will be raising
sewer rates, as well. Residents will have a 3 percent annual increase for that.

have a lot of old pipes, we have a lot of old systems, collectively, not just

Utilities Committee. "As a northwest Ohio community, we have a responsibility
to one side to maintain our pipes, to maintain our storm water system, to make
sure overflows don't go in our river, to make sure that our water is clean and
fresh and healthy to drink, and the other side, we have a budget. And right
now, those two are at odds."
