Election wrap up: Who won, who lost - What passed, what failed

Tuesday's election was quite the shakeup for Toledo City Government – the glass city will soon have a new mayor and at least two new members of city council.

Councilmen D. Michael Collins defeated Mayor Mike Bell by a margin of 28,036 to 21,560. Voter turnout in the city barely topped 25 percent.

Two new female members will join Toledo City Council. South Toledo businesswoman Sandy Spang and longtime city employee Theresa Gabriel won seats on council. The final seat on council will be decided in 10 days, when provisional ballots. Incumbent Adam Martinez finished just 34 votes ahead of former Toledo Public School Board Member Larry Sykes.

Toledo Public Schools will not see a funding decrease, after voters approved a 6.5 mill renewal 24,786 to 13,465.

Perrysburg will also have a new mayor, and Michael Olmstead defeated Laura Hummer to become the city's next mayor. Molly Mack will replace retiring Perrysburg Municipal Court Judge S. Dwight Osterud after defeating former Perrysburg City Councilman Tom Mackin on Tuesday.

Oregon Mayor Michael Seferian will continue to lead the city, as he defeated challenger Thomas Susor 2843 to 2328.
