I'm told Evansville once had a proud tradition of honoring her Veterans, but the Veterans Parade was discontinued for many years.
In 2010, a member of the River City Thunderbolt Military Vehicle Collectors Club rekindled the tradition of the Parade.
As a veteran, and a family of Veterans, I'm asking you to come to the Four Freedoms Veterans Parade this Saturday, November 9th, at 2:30pm on Riverside Drive.
I'm asking that you join me and the staff at 14News to support those who have and are currently serving our great country in our military.
Won't you take a stand with me?! Let's line the streets between Tropicana and the Four Freedoms Monument on Riverside Drive.
This year's Parade Chairman, a Vietnam vet said it best, "If there's no one on the sidewalks cheering us on, it's not a parade, it's a forced march."
Don't let these great people see a quote unquote, forced march!
Let's line the sidewalks this Saturday at 2:30, and give these veterans the honor they deserve.
That's my stand!
