Police say one person is dead after an overnight drive-by shooting at the intersection of East Foulke Avenue and Crystal Avenue in Findlay.
Just after 1 a.m. Friday, Findlay police officers responded to a call of shots fired at Foulke and Crystal, east of the University of Findlay campus. Upon arrival, they found Joe Gutierrez III, 34, had been shot. He was then taken to the a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Gutierrez was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle on Foulke when witnesses say a dark-colored Pontiac, possibly green, from the mid to late 90s, occupied by two males approached. Gutierrez exited the vehicle, and was shot by one of the occupants. The vehicle fled the scene northbound on Crystal.
Neighbor Steven Stauffer says crime that happens in the area is usually minor, but this shooting has him worried.
"You see this type of stuff all the time and it's like, now this is so close to my house, I don't know how to react," said Stauffer.
Police are looking for the two suspects. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Findlay Police Department at 419-424-7150.
