A suspect was wounded as he tried to break into a north Phoenix home Friday afternoon.
Police said the suspect jumped a fence and tried to get in the home near 34th Lane and Brown Street about 3:30 p.m., but was stopped briefly by the homeowner who shot him several times. The suspect ran off and police believe there was a woman waiting nearby to pick him up.
Police got a call from a John C. Lincoln hospital saying the suspect had been brought in by a woman who police believe is also a suspect in the crime. The car that they drove into the hospital is also being investigated by the police.
Police said charges are pending.
The suspect's identity has not been released at this time, but police say he's a 44-year-old man.
