Planning for death: What families need to know

TOLEDO, OH (AP) -

In conjunction with Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, Ottawa Hills Memorial Park will be lined with American flags. Veterans and families are invited to stop by and tour the area, honoring the men and women who have served our country.

Ottawa Hills Memorial Park has been a part of the community since 1936. It has grown over 85 acres, with bronze memorialization and seven mausoleums.

General Manager Jim Szakovits says one of the goals at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park is to make sure every family knows how to prepare for death.

Customers are able to walk through the park and choose a grave plot location, in order to preplan for burials.

Through the end of 2013, the park is offering a discount, allowing customers to purchase one ground spaces at regular price and get a 50% discount on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th space of equal or lesser value.

For more information, call 419-536-8321.

Ottawa Hills Memorial Park is located at 4210 West Central Avenue, in Toledo.
