Several Drug Arrest in Izard Co.

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – In recent days, the Izard County Sheriff's Department has been busy making drug arrests.

Kevin Cox, 51, of Melbourne had a charge of  delivery of a controlled substance and was out on bond. On Nov.4, Cox appeared in the Izard County Circuit Court. According to the report, the prosecution and defense worked out a plea for Cox on the charge.

While on bond, Cox committed other drug related crimes and was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (meth) and delivery of a controlled substance near a certain facility, Melbourne Elementary School.

Cox's plea was not accepted by the judge. He was placed in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.   

On Nov.4, Mark Allen Rogers, 35, of Batesville was formally charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession with the purpose to use drug paraphernalia for ingesting and tampering with evidence. Roger is being held at the Izard County Detention Facility and bond was set at $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11   

The Izard County Sheriff's Department said that Donita Lynn Mason, 50, of Batesville was formally charges with possession of a controlled substance (meth) with the purpose to deliver. She was arrested previously for driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without insurance.  Mason was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 14 and circuit court on Dec.11.

Ron Edward Ferguson, 59, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested previously for DWI. He was formally charged Nov.4 with possession of a controlled substance (meth) with the purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on bond and is due back in court on Nov. 14 and Dec. 11.

The Izard County Sheriff's Department, Arkansas State Police and 16th Judicial Task Force are credited with these arrests.
