LIHEAP helps low-income residents keep the heat on this winter

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville residents in need of assistance with their heating bills this winter will start receiving money Tuesday as part of the city's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Those who have successfully registered for assistance will now get a subsidy. It's not too late to apply for help, however.

Appointments are offered during the week from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all three offices of the Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership (CAP) for those interesting in applying.

LIHEAP is federally funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and is a pass through grant from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
