US 60 has reopened at mile point 10.5 west of Smithland in Livingston County after a deadly three-vehicle crash.
The Kentucky State Police received a report of a three vehicle collision on US 60 west of Smithland at approximately 5:47 A.M. on Tuesday November 12, 2013.
According to Kentucky State Police, Dustin T. Driskill, 22, of Marion, Ky. was operating a 1999 Honda Civic westbound on US 60 when he veered into the eastbound lane and a struck 1995 Ford utility truck head on. Michael W. Wurth, 52, of Boaz, Ky. was driving the truck.
Driskill’s car was then hit by a 2008 Pontiac Vibe traveling in the westbound lane. Jerrod L. Jennings, 27, of Burna, Ky. was driving that vehicle.
Driskill was pronounced dead on the scene by the Livingston County coroner.
Neither Wurth nor Jennings received injuries from the collision. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
Driskill was not wearing a seatbelt.The crash shut down US 60 while emergency crews responded.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Coroner, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Livingston County EMS, and the Smithland Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by Collision Reconstructionist, Sergeant Joey Adams.
