Troopers seize pills, crack and marijuana in Perrysburg traffic stop

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two Michigan residents sit in the Wood County Jail, and a third has been charged and released after a traffic stop that uncovered a variety of drugs in Perrysburg Tuesday.  

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a 2013 Toyota Yaris with Illinois registration was stopped for speeding on I-75 just north of the Ohio Turnpike just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday. Troopers say they smelled marijuana in the car, which prompted a search.

According to the patrol, troopers found 20 individually wrapped packages of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana and 130 Oxycodone pills.

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Laura Michelle Kirchner of Madison Heights, MI has been charged with possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine as well as possession and trafficking in a schedule II substance. Deonte Riley, 25, of Detroit was charged with possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine, possession and trafficking in a schedule II substance, possession of a schedule II substance, possession of a schedule IV substance and providing a police officer with false information after troopers say he tried to give them false identification.

Another passenger, Tarale Leon Demand, 24, also of Detroit, was charged with possession of marijuana and released.
