Perrysburg residents can recycle DVDs, VHS for free

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Perrysburg Department of Public Service now has a permanent drop off kiosk for residents to recycle their unwanted media, such as DVDs, CDs and VHS tapes.

The kiosk will be available Monday through Friday, and there's no fee for residents or the city. The tab will be picked up by a Toledo company called ReCellOne. Everything donated will be destroyed and recycled. All personal information is securely destroyed, as well.

City employees say recycling these items that normally get thrown away makes a big difference.

"There are 20,000 people living in Perrysburg. If each person donates one more thing, or recycles one more thing, then it makes a big impact," said Judy Hagen, program coordinator for Perrysburg Recycling. "It's what we call the power of one."

The new program launches this Friday, ‘America Recycles Day.'
