Police say a Burger King employee robbed his own workplace last week in Burlington, Kentucky.
It happened on Nov. 8 at the 1816 Burlington Pike location. The manager, Kelly Williams, was closing the store around midnight after her two last employees had left for the night.
According to police, Williams was in the office when she heard something behind her. As she turned around, a masked man sprayed her with mace and then forced her into the walk-in cooler.
He was able to steal cash from the day, the manager's purse and a Burger King telephone. The suspect was later identified by investigators as one of the two employees who had left that night, 22-year-old Casey Kinsey.
Kinsey, of Burlington, was arrested Thursday evening. He's been charged with first degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence, persistent felony offender.
One of the two aforementioned employees who left, Casey Kinsey, 22 of Tanglewood Drive in Burlington, Kentucky, was arrested yesterday (11/14/2013) at 6:15 p.m. and charged with the crime after investigators determined he was responsible.
Authorities said criminal charges against an accomplice are anticipated.
